For The Love of Science Fiction
After six straight days of packing, moving, and unpacking, I have arrived. My living room looks fabulous. Every other room in my apartment looks like a Battalion of Abrams Tanks rolled through them. It is what it is, lol. I'm only one person, and my better half, who has just been introduced to the concept of brutal commutes at the tender age of 29, comes home from work, throws on her monkey onzie, and demands red wine. That, also, is what it is. In just a few days, however, this place will truly look and feel like home.
Now, onto the bad news. (Which I actually think is good news, coincidentally enough.) I've postponed the release of my debut sci fi novel, "Dawn of Legaia" till January 11th of 2017. Why? October was hectic, and I refuse to put out a product I'm not happy with. I now fully realize why the big cats like G.R.R.M. do it the way they do. (I'm not saying I'm anything like a G.R.R.M., but I just might be some day.)
That gives me an extra couple months to make it that much better, inside and out. In the meanwhile, I'm going to keep kicking ass, in my writing life as well as my other lives, enjoy the holidays, and prepare to be the best version of myself that's ever existed, come 2017. 1/11/17 is also awesome because it's just a few days prior to Comic Excitement 2017, where I'm going to be a featured guest. So if you really think about it, it all works out! Book is better, and just in time for an awesome new con.
I have a good feeling about all of this. So as I sit in my freshly assembled living room and allow my thoughts to drift and spread into cyberspace, I hope everything is awesome with everyone. I hope those that were able to attend this year's Comikaze Expo, a.k.a. L.A. Comic Con 2016, had a friggin' awesome time, and certainly don't forget to mark your calendars, Jan 14 and 15, 2017, for the Comic Excitement Convention, where I'll be at a booth with my squad, just as excitedly, selling and signing copies of the all new, all awesome, Dawn of Legaia by A.C. Hachem.
P.S. CX (a.k.a. Comic Excitement) just posted their Cosplay Contest rules a couple days ago, so if you're interested in participating in a Cosplay Competition with a 1st place prize of $10k, I highly suggest you swing by their facebook or homepage and ingest the 411.
