The State of Sci Fi: 11/7/16
Dr. Strange! $325M internationally after 13 days, not too shabbeh! Definitely looking forward to seeing it myself sometime this week. The box office has been quiet these past couple months, and I think that's left moviegoers longing for a decent flick to watch.
A new Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer dropped today. It was a cinematic trailer, but awesome none the less. Especially enjoyed the audio. Definitely check that out if you haven't already. That game is going to look beyond good in 4K! Done, and, done. Take my money...
We get a new Star Wars movie in 5 weeks? We get a new Star Wars movie in 5 weeks! Oh, sweet deliciousness.
L.A.'s newest comic convention, The Comic Excitement Convention, has announced several more featured guests (including yours truly) and posted their cosplay content rules several days ago. $10K (the 1st place prize) is sure to make cosplayers near and far, pro or amateur, perk up.
As far as Dawn of Legaia is concerned (the first installment of my debut sci fi trilogy) I made the rather easy decision to push the publication date back from 11/11 to 1/11 of next year. I did this to ensure I wasn't scrambling to meet a deadline, cause that ain't how I like to roll. The more I think about it, the more the postponement has made sense, and since 1/11 is just 3 days shy of CX 2017 (Jan 14-15) I think the timing will work out excellently.
Haven't had an opportunity to play any Magic post-Kaladesh, and it doesn't look like my schedule is going to be freeing up any time soon, Ha. But it's all for the greater good, as I attempt to create a science-fictional universe rivaled by few.
